Mittlegard, or Earth, is the planet home to the human race. Many Westillian families lived on Mittlegard following migration from Westil and ruled humans, or drowthers as they called them, throughout parts of their history. Until the time of the Gate Thief Loki in 632 A.D., the families were free to travel between Mittlegard and Westil as they pleased.
